September 24 - Jack Daniels Music presents the Fifth Annual Calgary Beer Core Awards All sorts of mysterious music, fun, and punks in their best clothes. Show is at The Distillery and will be crazy.

October 29 - Pre-Halloween at the Lord Nelson featuring The Shillelaghs and guests.

October 31 - Ten Bands For Ten Bucks! Halloween at the Distillery will be the best deal money can buy, and an utterly fantastic show. Among the confirmed bands are Exit Strategy and Chakobsa. This will be unreal.

Well, that was a hell of a night. A huge thanks to all who made it out to the show, we love each and every one of you and thank you for your support. Also, we would like to thank our decorating committee for all their work getting the room so staggeringly cool!

Jack Daniels Presents 2011 Calgary Beer Core Awards

Ladies and gentlemen, the time is nigh. With much thanks to Jack Daniels Music, we present to you the Fifth Annual Calgary Beer Core Awards night! Once again, Big Ugly Jim and Isaac will be hosting the show with musical guests Cowpuncher and a lot of other surprises. Our theme this year is salsa, so come on out and enjoy the show with us in your spiciest fancy dress.

If you've never been to a CBC Awards show, you can count on a lot of laughter, a beautiful room, great music, cheap drinks, and good times. This is the night when we at the Beer Core go all out to thank the bands and the fans who make what we do possible.

Are the awards serious business? Yes and no. The night is definitely a parody of an awards show, and the awards are voted for by the fans, but winning a Corrie will probably not propel your name into the bright lights of super-stardom. This night is not about winning or losing, it really is a chance for us to have some drinks, laugh our asses off, and remember the past year of music in Calgary.
