September 10 - Big Ugly Jim's Big Ugly Birthday Show featuring Me And Keith, The Shillelaghs, The Press Gang, and The Rigormorticians. $5 cover at the door. Show is at Verns.

September 18 - Calgary Beer Core Awards 2010. All sorts of mysterious music, fun, and punks in their best clothes. Show is at The Distillery

Calgary Beer Core Awards 2010

Voting is now open for the 2010 Calgary Beer Core Awards. To cast your vote, click here and enter your details, but you'll need to do so before September 7th.

The Awards Show will be on September 18th at the Distillery. You can count on your hosts Isaac and Big Ugly Jim to guide you through a fantastic evening of laughing, drinking, music, burlesque, and general awesomeness. This year, we've decided that the theme to the show will be The Oscars, so dress in your fanciest clothes and come out to the show! You'll be glad you did. Here's to a few...

We'll be having a fundraiser for the Awards Show to help us cover the costs of setting up the room. The performers have agreed to donate their efforts so that we can put on yet another amazing CBC Awards Show! It's September 3 at Verns and will be SUPER AWESOME, with four great bands and some burlesque dancers!

Calgary Beer Core Awards 2009

The CBC Awards Show is a yearly event where we take a moment to say thanks to all the bands that give their sweat and talent to the cause. The 2009 CBC Awards Show was presented by Jager Music with the assistance of our sponsors FFWD, Perry Thompson Photography, x92.9, The Calgary Roller Derby Girls Association, CJ92, Beatroute Magazine, The New Black, Wasted Talent, Demonika's Bad Girls Apparel, the Calgary Babecore, Megatunes, The Distillery, and Music Center Canada.

The show was a huge success this year. Hosts Isaac and Jim kept the audience laughing and cheering all night, and the crowd was treated to performances by Better Off Dead, Deadman's Hand, We Found The Body, The Oh Shit Show, and BDFM. The winners were:
